Saturday, 16th June 2018 marks yet another day of celebration by the African Child. The theme selected this year is the SDG's slogan which is: "Leave no child behind for Africa's Development". The theme builds on the momentum created by the 2017 DAC theme (Accelerating Empowerment, Protection, and equal opportunities for children in African by 2030.

El-meela Heritage Support Foundation, in line with the 2018 theme choose to celebrate with the displaced children at Gurku Interfaith Relocation IDP Camp. Representation from the NLC, NURTW, NCWS, SDS, and other volunteers joined Elmhsf on the very important day for the African Children.

The Foundation shared educational materials, clothes, shoes, bags, as well as WASH materials to the children in the camp.

Activities carried out on the day include an interactive debate on the need to have quality education by some group of primary school children, songs by the montessori kids, as well as Girl-child awareness meetup on WASH and SRHR.

The President also lay emphasis on the need for all stakeholders to mainstream their activities and inculcate child-inclusiveness to leave none of them behind.

The Children on their part are full of life despite finding themselves in a place like the IDP Camp, and appreciate the kind gesture extended to them by the foundation.
